The whole band is a circus of bizarre personalities, but this group is principally about Courtney's songwriting being perfectly set by Ben, living in a world thoroughly outside of his standard operating procedure. Who knew a Vai lineage shredder would work so well on freak-out, dark ambient, Bungle-esque, heavily Bjorkian pop rock? If you know Schoolyard Heroes, you're very close to the sound of Bent Knee. This record is fantastic.”
